As a single father enlisted in the US Navy, Brandon decided it was time to make a change in his health. Starting at 320 pounds, he lost 100 pounds by maintaining a Keto lifestyle with Carb Manager! He now helps others do the same.
Have you tried any other weight loss plans (low fat, low calorie, or other) in the past? How did they work out?
I've tried almost every fad diet you can think of. Atkins, "Miami Heart Institute" diet, Paleo, Keto. So far, the best and most sustainable for me has been Keto. I find that I can pretty much make anything I want with simple substitutions for high carb ingredients.
Tell us about your weight loss experience.
I started with Paleo, but it was tough since I love dairy! Once I discovered Keto, I fell in love with it!
The experience that lit the fire to keep going was when I went to the store and could not find pants big enough for me. I had grown to a size 56 waist. This started the flame. As I began to see results, the flame grew larger and more bright! Leading to 100 pounds of weight loss.
Later on in my journey, I began nutrition counseling and personal training for other people who were struggling with their weight. I even ran an 8 week nutrition course. Helping others helps me to stay focused and continue my trek towards my ultimate goals!
How did Carb Manager help you stay on track?
I switched to Carb Manager from a different, very popular nutrition tracker. Upon switching to Carb Manager, I noticed it was MORE helpful, much easier to use, and much more intuitive in helping to maintain a Keto lifestyle. Now, I've gotten many of my friends to join me!
The results keep me motivated. Between the weight loss and significant jump in overall energy, I feel better and more healthy than I ever did before!
What do you see as the greatest benefit of going low carb/Keto?
The ridiculous amount of energy I gained and the feeling of losing 20 inches on my waist! One cannot even begin to describe the difference 100 lbs makes.
What's the best thing about being at your new weight?
Feeling good about myself and being able to help others with their journey. I use my journey as proof that anyone can do it! Fitting into size 36 or 34 pants is definitely an added bonus.
What are your health and fitness goals going forward?
I want to maintain my healthy lifestyle. I feel great with the progress I've made over the years.
My ultimate goal is to raise my daughter with a heightened awareness of the benefits of good nutrition and exercise. I include her in the cooking as well as the exercise and she loves it!
