Our Keto twisted bacon recipe is prepared with just 3 ingredients - sliced bacon, low carb maple-flavored syrup, and smoky paprika. This quick and easy recipe is simple to prepare, and the flavorful results are totally addictive. Ideal for sharing, snacking, and dipping into your favorite low carb sauces.

Can I Keep the Bacon Plain?

We have brushed our bacon in a simple marinade of low carb maple-flavored syrup and paprika. This combination helps give the bacon a sweet, smoky, and almost caramelized texture. You can, of course, simply twist plain slices of bacon if you prefer or use any of your other favorite low carb seasonings. Fiery chili powder, Italian herbs or garlic powder, and a touch of black pepper would all be great flavorings. Please be sure to adjust your macros to account for any changes made to the original recipe.

What Kind of Bacon Should I Use?

This Keto pork recipe can be prepared with any kind of sliced bacon. The most important thing is to keep your eye on the cooking time. If you are using larger strips of bacon cut from the pork belly, you will likely need to cook for longer. If you are using British or Irish bacon, the pork slices will be thinner and the cooking time shorter. We recommend checking the bacon at intervals to ensure you get the texture spot on. You can also cook for longer to get the bacon really crispy or a shorter time if you like your bacon slightly chewy.

Serving Suggestions

  • Step 1

    Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a shallow oven tray with baking paper. Add the maple-flavored syrup to a small bowl along with the paprika. Stir well to combine.

    Arrange the bacon slices across the lined oven tray. Brush the exposed side of each slice of bacon with the maple paprika mixture. Make sure each slice is liberally coated.

    Hold one end of the bacon with one hand. Take the other end of the bacon with the other hand and start twisting, creating a tight spiral. Arrange the twisted bacon side by side across the oven tray. Transfer the twisted bacon to the oven and bake for a minimum of 20 minutes or until cooked through to your preferred consistency. Serve as a snack with your favorite Keto dips.
