Recipe Steps

  • Step 1

In a bowl, combine the slaw mix, salt, vinegar, mayo, sesame seeds, and first amount of lime juice. Set this slaw mixture aside for later, giving the salt time to draw out the juices.
    Step 1
  • Step 2

Trim any unwanted fat from your chicken, and chop the chicken into 1-inch cubes.
    Step 2
  • Step 3

Heat the olive oil in a medium sized pan on medium-high heat. Toss in the chicken and black pepper, and cook these ingredients until the chicken just cooks through.
    Step 3
  • Step 4

Use a wooden spoon to move the chicken the the outer edges of the pan and turn the heat to very low. Place the peanut butter, chili sauce, and soy sauce in the exposed center of the pan.
    Step 4
  • Step 5

Let the heat melt the peanut butter slightly, then stir and combine the chicken and sauce into a consistent and creamy mixture.
    Step 5
  • Step 6

Finally, chop the cilantro and basil and toss these with the chicken.
    Step 6
  • Step 7

Serve the hot chicken with the cool slaw and two lime wedges. You can add extra cilantro as a garnish at your discretion. Enjoy!

This was so much better than I thought it was going to be! The slaw and chicken are so delicious together, they really compliment each other!

I used liquid aminos in place of soy sauce- 2/10 do not recommend - too salty! I used cream cheese in place of heavy cream mentioned above -10/10 highly recommend. I absolutely WILL make this again and either use soy sauce or about 1/3 the aminos. I also added some chopped yellow pepper. The slaw is amazing (and I normally don’t like slaw). I did add truvia sweetener after a taste test.

Most of the time liquid amios have added sugar too. Well, the ones around here do.

Tasty and real easy. However the app says that this is 6 total carbs but in the carb manager cookbook it is listed as 10 total carbs. I have stay under 20 total (not net) for day so this makes a huge difference. Could you clarify which is accurate please.

Really tasty and easy to cook. I used chilli flakes as based in the UK, so some ingredients wasn't available here. I pan fried Cavlo Nero in garlic and ginger oil as a side instead of the slaw.

This was paired so nicely. The simple cool slaw and the hot chicken. Next time I would double the amount of sambal oelek, but I really like spice.

This was absolutely fantastic! I added just a bit of cream to make a sauce like someone had suggested and served over cauliflower rice. The cole slaw was tasty as well. My husband's remark after his first bite was "oh yeah!". I'll be making this often!

Wow this was delicious! I'm sure the original recipe was just as good, but I made some tweaks for my own personal reasons which I want to share. 1st, since my husband doesnt like mayo, I used a chopped Asian salad Kit.I know those are loaded with carbs but I used half of the salad with 1/4 of the dressing and crunchy's. This cut down the carbs considerably. 2nd, I used cooked chicken that I had on hand. I added it after the sauce was hot to warm it up. 3rd, I doubled the sauce recipe and at the same time used used soy sauce and chili sauce to my taste, sampling it with the cooked chicken as I added a little more of each until just right. I stirred in the cooked chicken, let it warm slowly on low until the sauce was bubbly, then served it with the previously prepared salad. Really tasty. Next I will try serving it over zoodles. Yum!

My wife loved it! A tad too spicy for me, next time I might use half the amount of chili, and like someone else said maybe a touch of cream or maybe try coconut milk to make an actual sauce. Flavor of everything was great, thanks for the recipe, it’s a keeper!

Does this actually have 47g of protein per serving? That would be great but seems pretty high

I took into consideration what everyone was saying out the slaw. It was very mayonnaisy, so I ended up adding a bit more cabbage, I did add two packets of splenda because it was so sour, but after those changes it was much better! I used Sriracha for the chili sauce and it turned out so good!!! I did end up watering it down a bit because it was really thick, topped it on the slaw and it was delicious! I also used coconut aminos instead of soy sauce and it wasn’t to salty at all:)

Love this. I just add a little single cream to the sauce otherwise it can be a little dry. Good with cauliflower rice

The chicken was the cat’s pajamas! Slaw was good too but might tweak it a little or try cauliflower rice

First time making this but not the last! Took about 40 minutes to make even with kids running around. I will try to double the recipe to make a few more dinners/lunches as there are a lot of ingredients and clean-up.

So good!!! Will definitely make it again. I recommend making a cauliflower rice or something similar to go with the chicken. I doubled the slaw recipe and it still wasn’t much for a side by itself.

I have made this before but I add garlic and ginger. I reduced the amount of soy sauce by half as it can make the dish too salty. Love it and easy to make.
