Keto Parmesan Fried Steaks

85 ratings

For this recipe, you will need two thinly sliced NY strip steaks. If you have difficulty finding this at a grocery store, you can purchase one thick, boneless strip steak, and slice it in half at home. Each steak is topped off with a layer of gooey, parmesan cheese. Under the steak is a crispy, fried layer of golden brown cheese as well.

Recipe Steps

  • Step 1

Lay two boneless strip steaks on a flat, clean surface. Drizzle the olive oil across the exposed sides. Sprinkle the first amounts of salt and pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder across the exposed sides as well.
    Step 1
  • Step 2

In a medium sized skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Place the steaks in the skillet, seasoned side down. Sprinkle the second amount of salt and pepper over the tops of the steaks. Place the rosemary on top as well.
    Step 2
  • Step 3

Cover the skillet with a lid, and cook the steaks for about 5 minutes. Just before flipping, sprinkle about 1 TB of the parmesan cheese over each steak. Then, flip the steaks overs. Push the rosemary to the side of the skillet, and sprinkle the remaining parmesan cheese over the newly exposed steak.
    Step 3
  • Step 4

Keep the lid on the skillet, and cook the steak for another 3-4 minutes. This is enough time to let the exposed cheese melt and the cheese under the steak crisp up to a slightly-crunchy, golden brown color.
    Step 4
  • Step 5

Enjoy immediately. Don’t forget to scrape up any fried cheese onto the steaks while serving!

My husband and I love this recipe, I do ditch the rosemary and use blade steak instead (just need to cook it for longer) but hands down the best steak I’ve ever made!

My husband and son liked it, so that is a win! If I make it again I would use something other than strip steak. It was a little bit tough. And the parmesan didn't really crisp up. I used the grated stuff because I thought it would stick to the meat better but maybe shredded would be better.

We love this recipe! I also have a steak hating husband, but he LOVES this super tender steak! I opt out with the Parmesan on the bottom, but do add it to the top. Deelish!

So quick and easy and my steak hating husband loved it because it was soooo tender! My only regret is that the cheese didn’t crisp up due to so much liquid in the pan during cooking with the lid on. I may just put the cheese on the top next time. We will definitely be having this again! Thank you!

This was good, unfortunately for meg I ilhas the wrong piece of steak and maybe the wrong Parmesan cheese so it didn’t come out like on the picture... my husband loved it , I thought it was ok. I’ll give it another try soon.

I love the flavors. I just cooked the steak for as long as I usually do but when I turned it over and covered with cheese, I covered the pan until it was cooked to my preference. Thank you for the recipe!

Very simple and tasty! I used the thin cut NY steaks. The next time, and there will be, I'll shave the cook time a bit and reduce the salt as the parmesan provides enough salt. We had it with riced cauliflower and sauteed spinach & kale. Complete dinner in under 30 minutes!

Delicious! I would probably just do one layer of the parm cheese on one side because it was a bit too salty for my taste. Overall great - my husband loved it!

A little overdone for our liking, but flavor was incredible! Next time I'll shorten the cooking time, but definitely will be a next time.

Recipe writer my seasonings almost all state 0 carbs. Even in the garlic and onion powder the amount is so small it seems odd it would add up to that many carbs.

Seasonings and large amounts of cheese do add small amounts of carbs. Most here would come from the dried seasonings.
