Keto New York Chicken

10 ratings

New York chicken is the perfect flavor combo of BBQ sauce, salty bacon and rich cheese.

This keto version uses our own BBQ sauce recipe, keeping the carbs low and the recipe free from added sugars and additives.

The recipe requires ½ of one complete batch of our BBQ sauce, but if you prefer you can make the full quantity and reserve the rest for another meal!

This New York chicken is ideal served alongside a simple salad, steamed green veg or for an indulgent feast with a serving of our smokey slaw.

If you have Premium Recipes available to you (it's the more expensive membership) in search simply type in BBQ sauce and you will get several options.

Is there an easy way to find the BBQ sauce recipe referred to in this recipe in the phone app? Or see the recipe makers other recipes using the phone app?

I believe a rasher is a UK term for sliced bacon. While the US just has strips, which UK calls "streaky bacon," presumably because of the streaks of fat, they also have "back bacon" or "posh bacon", which is made from pork loin so leaner (less fat). Back bacon is what is in the picture.

Searched Low Carb BBQ Sauce, first in Sides then in All Recipes. Both efforts resulted in "Whoops! Looks like there are no results here." So, where can we find that recipe, please?

Can this be made with thighs rather than breasts?

          • Tracyntalbot

            Tracyntalbot 2 years ago

Yes, but it will change protein and fat macros. According to the Australian Chicken Meat Federation, 100g of skinless chicken breast contains 22.3g of protein and 1.6g of fat. Compare this to 100g of skinless chicken thigh, which contains 17.5g of protein and 8.4g of fat.

It's kind of a British term - you can see the pic shows a wider piece of bacon, like a British bacon rasher, rather than the streaky kind we get in Canada for example, but I'm sure either would work. I would just use 2 pieces of the thinner kind. Besides, there's no such thing as too much bacon, right?

Hi! It is just a term for a slice of bacon. Hope that helps!
