Keto Buttery Broccoli with Anchovies and Capers
This simple side is loaded with fats and flavor from creamy butter, tender broccoli, salty anchovies, capers and a hint of lemon.
This is a great side dish for chicken or fish or could even be tossed through a low carb spaghetti!

Ingredients
Broccoli Florets
3 cups
Anchovy Canned
2 anchovies
Butter
1 tablespoon
Garlic
1 clove
Lemon Peel Or Zest Raw
1 tsp
Capers
1 tablespoon, whole pieces

Step 1
Add the broccoli to a small pan of boiling water. Simmer for 4-5 minutes until just tender then drain completely.Step 2
Melt the butter in a skillet over a low/medium heat. Crush the garlic and roughly chop the capers. Add to the skillet along with the lemon zest and tear in the anchovy fillets. Cook for a couple minutes until the garlic is tender and the anchovies soften.Step 3
Add the broccoli to the pan and toss in the butter and seasonings. Cook for a minute or two more until hot through.

Very good! I didn’t have anchovies so used a teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce instead. Will make this again.

Good, except could of used more of each added flavor. Will make again and increase capers, garlic, anchovies, and lemon

My Italian grandmother made this when I was a kid, my mom made it and I make it. My mom and I began substotuting anchovy paste for anchovy fillets to avoid the bones. We also toss the broccoli in the buttery sauce and bake it in the oven for 20-30 minutes or so to seal in the flavors, so to speak. Perfect keto veggie recipe!😊

I know this sounds a little odd... anchovies and broccoli? But wow! What a difference it made to broccoli. Once you try it, you’ll be hooked like we are.
