Keto Philly Steak Rolls

11 ratings

These Philly-inspired steak rolls are hearty, filling, and super cheesy! Packed with mozzarella cheese and crisp bell pepper, they taste just like the popular philly cheese steak sandwich. Each steak roll sits on top of a bed of sauteed mushrooms, perfectly seasoned.

Recipe Steps

  • Step 1

In a pan over medium heat, heat the first amount of olive oil and toss in sliced mushrooms. Cook the mushrooms down for about 2 minutes.
    Step 1
  • Step 2

Season the mushrooms with the first amounts of salt and pepper, the garlic, and italian seasoning. Reduce the heat slightly and cook the mushrooms down until they are soft and darker in color. Transfer the cooked mushrooms to a serving dish for later.
    Step 2
  • Step 3

Arrange 2 pieces of thin sliced sandwich steak (or slice a large steak into 2 pieces). Season the exposed sides with the second amounts of salt and pepper and the onion powder.
    Step 3
  • Step 4

Lay 1 slice of mozzarella cheese in the center of each steak. Slice the green bell pepper into thin strips and lay them at one end of the cheese slice.
    Step 4
  • Step 5

Spread the final amount of olive oil across the pan you used earlier and heat it over a medium-high heat. When the pan is hot, roll each steak roll up and secure them shut with toothpicks if necessary. Place the steak rolls in the hot pan, seam side down.
    Step 5
  • Step 6

Cook the steak rolls for approx. 5 minutes, until the bottom of the rolls have a strong char on them. Then, use a pair of tongs to flip the steak rolls over, exposing their cooked seams. Lay another slice of mozzarella cheese over the hot exposed steak as the remainder cooks in the pan to a strong char.
    Step 6
  • Step 7

When the steak rolls are done cooking, transfer them to lay on top of the mushrooms, setting the seam side with melted cheese against the mushrooms, exposing a bare, charred steak on top. Remove the toothpicks and enjoy!
    Step 7

Agree it would be better as a bowl. Meat didn’t cook evenly as a wrap but other than that tasted great!

Sounds good but is seams easier to just slice the steak in slices and do a philly cheese steak bowl. You then won’t have to worry about charring one side and having it over cooked and you can then make sure the meat is cooked evenly.
