Ingredients
Tuna, raw
9 oz
Salt
¼ teaspoon
Black Pepper, Ground
½ teaspoon
Onion Powder
¼ teaspoon
Parsley, Dried
½ teaspoon
Olive Oil
½ tablespoon
Avocado
1-½ ounce
Cucumber
1-¼ ounce

½ teaspoon
Coriander Leaf, Fresh

Recipe Steps
steps 5
16 min
Step 1
Lay 2, 4-oz tuna steaks on a clean surface. Sprinkle the salt, pepper, onion powder, and parsley evenly over the tops of the tuna steaks, pressing the seasonings in gently. There should only be seasoning on one side of each steak.Step 2
Heat the olive oil in a small or medium pan over a medium-high heat. Place the tuna steaks in the oil, seasoned sides down.Step 3
Cook the tuna steaks for about 4 minutes on this side - enough time to make the tuna a crisp, golden brown. Flip the steaks and cook for an additional 2 minutes on the other side. Once the tuna steaks are done cooking, set the pan aside to let the steaks rest.Step 4
Meanwhile, make the avocado cucumber salsa by dicing the avocado and cucumber, chopping the tomatoes, and mixing them together with the lime juice, cilantro, garlic, and salt.Step 5
Dress your tuna steaks equally with the prepared salsa and enjoy!

Good summer dish. Be carefull with time and heat settings...almost well done. I added celery and green onion to salsa. Wondering if apple cider vinegar would work as a substitute for lime juice?

Sub cilantro with basil and lime with lemon. This was amazing.

I have basil, lot's if it! Can I get opinions on how that would work instead of cilantro?

Loved it! Drizzled a little sesame oil on top before serving. Agree with others, I would cook it for less time than the recipe states but it’s a keeper.

Using the suggested cooking time will give you a medium steak. Next time I will cook a shorter period of time to get more of a rare steak. Also the ingredients lists coriander but the instructions states cilantro

They are basically the same thing.

So fresh, healthy and fast. The only correction I see is in the ingredient list it says corriander instead of cilantro
