Keto Coconut-Choc Fat Bombs
These irresistibly indulgent fat bombs are the perfect midday pick me up or after dinner treat.
Simple to prepare these fat bombs require two hours total set time.
The recipe calls for coconut oil, this needs to be at room temperature and relatively soft but not melted so that it can be easily mashed.
Erythritol has been used to sweeten the recipe, however you can use your preferred sweetener of choice or omit this entirely.

Too much cocoa

Delicious! Make sure that the oil and cream cheese are soft. I mix ALL ingredients together with a fork, use a cookie scoop to portion each bomb (yes, the soft mass glides off easily) on a plate. Then put it in the fridge to enjoy later. It takes me less than 5 minutes!
ExcellentRadish696909 a year ago
Help! The mixture I made hasn't firmed up, except for hard lumps of coconut oil. It's impossible to roll into balls.
Fleecewood a year ago
Would definitely cut back on the Coco; too too much. Maybe just 2 tablespoons.
MirthfulRadish564014 a year ago
I use swerve and added a bit of vanilla flavor as one user mentioned. From the mix I made 8 balls, each one about 35g, so when I put three together, I got 100g/3.7oz. My husband doesn't like coconut, so his were without, for mines I added pieces of pecans along with coconut. This is my 7th day on keto and I love this recipe, will make it again.

I may have used the wrong cream cheese.
OutstandingAvocado330762 a year ago
Great easy to make treat. I did however use only half the recommended sweetener, added vanilla essence to the mixture and a couple of frozen raspberries in each bomb which really complemented the flavours.
OutstandingKetone665228 2 years ago
Very yummy, I added some orange oil to change up the flavor.
TatianaLoper 2 years ago
Too much coco in this. I would add just 1 table spoon next time and a spoon of peanut butter maybe for better flavor. Next time i will make these without coco powder. Will just add vanilla, coconut flakes and crushed almonds. Overall great, fast and easy receipe. I appreciate it for its base: creamcheese, coconut oil and sweetener. And from there you can customize, which I'll be doing next time. These are a bit harsh for me on chocolate. Not exactly my cup of tea, but I'll make much better ones next time.

@Gumz the block Philadelphia cream cheese would work best, as opposed to the spreadable tub type.

What cream cheese would you use plz
cherylwright514 10 months ago
The lemon cheese cake ones are the same recipe except for the lemon and vanilla instead of chocolate so you could make any flavor you wanted with this basic recipe

I love theses. I just mixed everything up together including the coconut flakes. I also added a few sugar free chocolate chips and substituted stevia drops. Yum!

I looked forward to having them every-time! So good

Newbie, but keto is touted to reduce sweet cravings after while, so I’m wonder why there are keto deserts. Also, erithritol isn’t awesome for your body. So I’m not sure I’m motivated enough to make the sweets. Better to have a normal sweet as a treat once a week?
JillyBean819 2 years ago
Eating regular sweets will knock you out of ketosis though. You wouldn't want to have to get back into ketosis every single week.
LoriMD 2 years ago
Keto definitely reduces the sweet cravings but it doesn’t eliminate them all together. Some people use it up their fat as well.
Msjournalist 3 years ago
I use them to get my fat up over my protein. I also use stevia instead of anything artificial since my body doesn't tolerate any artificial sweeteners.
Trina13 3 years ago
After a few weeks my sweet cravings do subside. I use these fat bombs to balance my protein rather than sweet snack, sometimes I just need a bit more fat to get the ratio right. You’re right - no artificial sweetener is good for the body but a small amount ingested occasionally isn’t terribly harmful.

I really tried to make these taste good and they just don’t 😖 hard pass

Same here! They were not good, at all!

These are very easy, handy treats. A good (and tasty) way to work those macros numbers! I added ~ 1 tsp coconut flavored liquid stevia (on top of recipe sweetener) to add just a little bit more sweetness and gives the coconut an extra boost. Also, for convenience and ease of mixing, I soften the cream cheese in the microwave about 5 seconds or so. And I can attest that if your oil has turned to liquid it still works well. Also, for ease again, I put my mixture in the freezer ~ 1/2 hr maybe and it quickly becomes workable at room temp to make the balls by hand. And lastly, for an extra treat, I stick a (Lily's) choc chip or 2 in each treat before putting the balls back in the fridge. Yum!
MirthfulKetone816989 3 years ago
I used brown Swerve as the sweetener as it was what I had on hand. Would recommend bringing the cream cheese to room temperature to aid in mixing ease. These are a great, not sweet, chocolate treat!

I modified this recipe by mixing 1 T organic cream cheese with 1 T Coconut oil and 1 t Hershey’s Simply 5, then adding 1 T desiccated coconut. I ate it right out of a small bowl with a spoon. It was delicious and only 5g carbs!
MarvellousAvocado431852 3 years ago
Wow! Didn’t expect that, they’re delicious and very moreish. Definite chocolate craving fix for me.

Tastes pretty nasty! Will try double or triple the Erythritol but yikes, it’s bad.

These are a complete staple for me and my incessant chocolate cravings! I also add a little almond extract 👩🍳💋

Can I use Stevia for sweetener instead? If so, how much would use? Thank you!

2 Tbsp Stevia works.

Will this recipe work if I use cacao powder, rather than cocoa powder?
Usernamenorcal 3 years ago
I used Giradelli unsweetened cacao powder and it was really good!
MarvellousKetone360278 4 years ago
These are pretty good and extremely easy to make. But, be careful eating too many of them. I ate a serving a day until they were gone and I ended up with pretty bad constipation. Everyone's body is different, so it depends on whether alot of cheese and dairy normally affects you. Otherwise, they're great. I'll make them again, but now I know too be careful not to eat too many in a row.
Taikwonjoe 3 years ago
Probably replace the cream cheese with something else dairy free. Maybe coconut cream
RousingKetone533872 4 years ago
This says 5 servings but at the bottom says to make 10 balls. Are 2 balls one serving?
Choose Keto 3 years ago
Yes. Which I like because one is never enough. Or you could half the macros and calories and only eat one. Choices are always good.

Easy, delicious and helps me get my daily fats. Bonus, they keep well in the fridge for weeks…..thus, I always make at least a batch and a half. I also add almonds….smashed up a little for a crunch factor!

Loved these! Addicting.
ExcellentKetone986567 4 years ago
I really liked these bombs...and they hit the choc spot nicely. I put a roasted salted almond in the centre of each one as I rolled them into balls, and added a tsp of vanilla extract to the mixture. Delicious!
SplendidCauliflower577123 4 years ago
A winner! My family loves it! (supposed to be for me!)
LaMosquita 4 years ago
Absolutely love these!! I sprinkled sea salt on mine as well. Might consider adding a small amount of vanilla extract to the batter next time. So many possibilities with these! I have a good scale so I weighed out the 3.5 oz portion— damn! It’s like 3-4 balls and seems like a lot to have at once for a serving. I needed the extra fat today so I spread them out throughout the day. I had one at 5am for pre workout, one and a half for a snack after lunch, And I’ll have one after dinner. These helped me hit all my macro targets today! Muchas gracias to whomever submitted this recipe.
Mamapaul 4 years ago
Yes I just weighed mine as well. I couldn’t believe how many balls you could eat

Too rich in chocolate
IneffableAvocado889785 4 years ago
Thankyou for saying so. There is too strong chocolate. I changed it,first brought the original balls to room temperature. In a large bowl add 1/2 cup unwhipped whip cream & 8 ounces more cream cheese, and 3 teaspoons vanilla and beat to remove lumps. Add the softened original chocolate balls, mix well until smooth. Make new balls and freeze them. Its like milk chocolate.
FantasticArugula 4 years ago
I’m going to cut the cocoa down next time too, found it to be too much
Lala 4 years ago
I usually cut the cocoa powder to about 1/4 if not then it is to much chocolate I agree
SplendidKetone487730 4 years ago
Fabulous recipe! Thank you for sharing I absolutely love these bombs and eat a few every day! I add some coconut into the mixture and occasionally put coffee in to! Love them!
lowcarbdietere1ad 4 years ago
These are good but also very decadent. The perfect sweet treat especially if you are really craving chocolate. I added just a tiny bit more sweetener which seemed like it was needed. I might cut back just a bit on the cacao next time. I rolled half of them in crushed pecans and the other half in the coconut. Both are good!

LOVE this recipe so much, but looking for clarity. At the top, it says 5 servings but you split it into 10 servings. Are 2 balls one serving? Or is one ball a serving. Thanks for the help and the amazing recipe
StupendousKetone855443 4 years ago
It says each serving is 100g. I made the 5 serving recipe but the total mass of the ingredients adds up to less than 400 grams...something isn’t adding up.
Elliza214 4 years ago
I would weigh them, it states that 1 serving is a 3.5oz fat bomb. If that helps
Freddie 5 years ago
How many bombs does this yield and what is a serving size? Thanks

I liked these, my husband did not. I think it’s all a matter of how long it’s been since you had a candy bar. He just had a Snickers yesterday, lol. It’s been ages since I’ve had chocolate...

These are so good! I ended up with 14 fat bombs, I guess I made them a bit smaller than intended. I also used monkfruit as sweetener. I froze them and take them right out of the freezer to snack on. Will definitely make again, since they are super easy and quick to make.
jennierebecah804d 4 years ago
I also used monkfruit. I used 2 Tablespoons. I used small cookie scooper and got 16 bombs

This is Terrible. Taste only the cream cheese. Could Take a spoon full of cream cheese and shove it to my mouth and that would be the same. I am a cheese fanatic and was looking forward tasting theses but ewww. Big disappointement and waste of ingredients. I don't understand how people find it delicious.
