Ultimate Keto Mug Biscuit With Sausage And Gravy
Make this highly-rated Carb Manager Keto breakfast biscuit with sausage gravy when you’re in a rush to make breakfast but still want something hot and warm. All you need is a clean coffee mug to make your recipe. Add all the ingredients to the mug, stir, and microwave them. In a second mug, you’ll make the sausage gravy, which just needs two ingredients. Pour your hot sausage gravy over a sliced mug biscuit, and your breakfast is served. This high-fat recipe could also be used as a side dish to either a larger breakfast meal or another main course.
Keto food to serve at breakfast
Want to make this biscuit recipe part of a complete Keto breakfast? Go simple and pair the biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs or a side of bacon. If you need more protein in your diet, try adding a protein shake or smoothie from Carb Manager’s recipe library. If you like savory, healthy breakfasts, why not have a breakfast salad with a hard-boiled egg and extra-fatty dressing?
Storing leftovers
You can keep fully cooled leftovers stored in your refrigerator for up to 24 hours. If you keep the gravy and biscuit separate, you can store these items as leftovers for up to 3 days. Since this is such an easy recipe to throw together, it’s best to eat everything made fresh!
What kind of cooked sausage can I use?
Don’t worry about the brand you may see listed in the ingredients list. Choose a similar brand of cooked breakfast sausage. If you can’t find pre-cooked sausage, you can always cook your own. Just use plain ground pork sausage and make as much as you need.

Step 1
Choose a coffee mug or a similar heat-safe mug that’s at least 12 fluid ounces or larger. Combine almond flour, coconut flour, baking powder, erythritol, and salt together in the bottom of the mug. You don’t have to mix the ingredients yet.Step 2
Now, stir egg and room temperature avocado oil into the mug. Stir until completely combined. Set the mug aside for later.Step 3
Prepare the gravy by crumbling cooked sausage into heavy cream in a separate heat-safe container. Mix the second amount of salt with xanthan gum (this helps the gum to disperse better without any clumps), then add the xanthan mixture to the cream. Stir the ingredients together, then microwave them for 45 seconds.Step 4
Go back to your biscuit and microwave the biscuit for 1 minute. Set aside to cool and rest for easier removal later. Stir the gravy together and return it to the microwave.Step 5
Microwave the gravy again for 30 seconds, then stir it together a final time. It should be thickened well by now. Cut the biscuit into 4 equal pieces.Step 6
Pour the hot gravy over the top of the biscuits. Serve hot with fresh-cracked black pepper or an extra pinch of salt. Let leftovers cool completely before storing them.

I love this. Made it as the recipe stated except had to add more xantham to thicken, then it boiled over a bit. Will use bigger container next time when microwaving. Good the next day for the second portion.

Great Potential. Loved the biscuit especially. Like other commenters, I doubled the biscuit salt & baking powder. Mixed biscuit in 2 cup Pyrex measuring cup. Came out great except for a lumpy top. Next time will smooth out top before cooking. Made gravy in 1 cup Pyrex, boiled over in microwave so will use another 2 cup Pyrex next time. Gravy did not thicken so will double Xanthan (this was my first time using this product) Want more flavor in gravy. Next time will add dried herbs such as poultry seasoning, sage, thyme for example.

This was pretty good! Made it with some leftover Alfredo sauce that was quite bland and that I had left over. A quick and easy lunch! Will make it again.

Wow, these are tasty! I skipped the sweetener, too and they tasted just like mom’s!

This was delicious! After reading through reviews, I doubled the salt and baking powder and this came out perfectly salty and fluffy. Next time, I may omit or use less sugar because I wasn’t a fan of the sweetness. Super delicious and just the southern comfort food fix I needed. I may prep bags of the dry ingredients ahead of time and make the gravy ahead of time and keep in the fridge for a quick breakfast in the morning. You gotta try! 😃

I was just thinking yesterday that I missed biscuits and gravy. So glad I found this ♥️

MY MIND IS BLOWN! Biscuits and gravy while on a diet?? These are absolutely amazing! I took from others' suggestions and doubled the baking powder and salt in the biscuits. I added 1/8tsp ground sage and 3/4tsp chicken broth granules with 1tsp water. I also doubled the gravy, but next time I won't since it was too much gravy. Amazballs!!!

Any heavy whipping cream

Okay not bad for keto biscuits and gravy. Used 2 turkey sausage, increased baking powder And xanthum gum to 1/4 t, and added 1/4 teaspoons of sage to gravy.!

The cream didn’t thicken like it was supposed to so I was concerned with it. I’ve also never had a mug biscuit that turned out decent ever. This was amazing!! Definitely will have again!

I mistakenly mixed the cream with the dry ingredients before I microwaved them, but you know what? It still came out deliciously. Definitely making this a breakfast staple.

I am confused is the picture showing the cooked biscuit from the 2 serving amount cut in four pieces? I doubled the amount by putting the whole amount in 2 different mugs. So is that wrong? It seems the amount of sausage and gravy were only enough for one serving.

Not a fan of the gravy! Way too rich for my taste. Like others commented, the macros are off too. Be aware before making this. The Heavy Whipping cream I used added close to 3 carbs. I didn’t try the biscuit.
DSly4425 4 years ago
There is a pretty significant variance between heavy whipping creams I’ve found. And I suspect it is more related to variances allowed in labeling.

The gravy is fantastic. I was not a fan of the “bisquits”. However the gravy would be good over eggs to liven them up.

Sounds good! Just curious if you have to put the Swerve in it?

It was amazing

I liked this recipe and so did my husband, but I double the gravy recipe! The biscuit never tastes like an actual biscuit but it doesn’t make a big difference with the gravy on top.

So delicious. This will help you stick to your keto lifestyle for sure!!

This is one of my favorites! I took Sailsgirl’s advice and added a splash of chicken broth! Even better! I have to make sure I don’t overeat this delicious dish!

I don't think these macros are correct. The recipe is for 2 servings. I just entered the same exact info into the recipe builder and ended up with 230 calories per serving, 3.7 carbs, 19.9 fat (very different), 7.3 protein.

Can you substitute the avocado oil for olive oil?
Elysefl954 4 years ago
I wouldnt see why not
Sailsgirl 5 years ago
Really good! The gravy is pretty skimpy for two people; I ended up adding a little chicken broth to make it work. Added red pepper flakes too, ‘cause some like it hot! This will definitely be in rotation.

My first attempt at this recipe was a success! I doubled the recipe so I would have leftovers for a quick out the door breakfast but my hubby had other ideas and ate the rest. For a B&G guy, he said it was worth doing this one again. I'm shocked since he is not on keto but has tried everything I make. He has been a willing participant for my experiments with the recipes and hasn't complained yet!
