Keto Seared Steak with Compound Butter
A simply seared steak is a perfect, satisfying meal. Make sure the butter and pan are hot and the steak is patted dry prior to searing the steak so you get a nice crust. This recipe is made with Sirloin steak but you can also use Strip, Ribeye or tenderloin!

Step 1
Heat ½ Tbsp. of butter over medium-high heat.Step 2
Season the steak with salt on both sides. Once the butter is melted and hot, place the steak in the pan. Allow the steak to sear for 1 minute.Step 3
Flip over and sear on the other side. Transfer the pan to a 350 degree oven for 3-5 minutes, depending on the thickness of the steak.Step 4
While the steak is cooking, grate the garlic. Slightly melt the remaining tablespoon of butter until just soft, then add in the Italian seasoning and grated garlic. Wrap the butter in parchment or plastic wrap and chill in the freezer.Step 5
Remove the steak from the oven when it reaches your desired doneness. Allow to rest for 15 minutes before slicing. Remove the butter from the freezer and cut into slices or cut into pieces and roll into small balls. Place the butter pieces on top of the steak and enjoy!

How much Italian seasoning? There is no amount listed.

Play it by ear. Start light. If you want more, add it to the steaks.

Is steak weighted before or after cooking?
recipewriter 6 years ago
The steak is weighed prior to cooking.

In step 5, roll the butter into small "bowls"? or "balls"? Sounds delish! I may have to mix in a bit of blue cheese crumbles or Gorgonzola with the butter!
