Not everyone likes spicy! These Herb Roasted Chicken Wings have zero heat, but they’re packed with flavor from fresh and dried herbs. In this recipe, you’ll bake and roast the wings so they have a tender, juicy inside and a crispy outside. Enjoy as a snack or as part of your lunch!

*Please note that you will need 1/2 c. olive oil for step 2. The amount noted in the ingredient list is for nutritional purposes only.

Recipe Steps

  • Step 1

Preheat an oven to 375 degrees, and spray a baking dish with pan spray. Prepare the chicken wings by cutting them into wings and dings. You should get about 12 pieces.
    Step 1
  • Step 2

*For this step, please use 1/2 c. of olive oil. Place the chicken wings in a large bowl. Use your hands or a large spoon to combine the wings with the olive oil, salt, pepper, red pepper, paprika, dried oregano, and dried basil.
    Step 2
  • Step 3

Arrange the seasoned chicken wings in your baking dish. Place the fresh oregano and bay leaves around the chicken wings. Cover the dish with foil and bake the wings for 40 minutes.
    Step 3
  • Step 4

Prepare a large sheet tray with pan spray. When the wings are done baking, transfer them to the new pan. Make sure there is space between the wings so the second round of baking creates a crispy skin. Bake the tray, uncovered, for an additional 20 minutes.
    Step 4
  • Step 5

    Enjoy hot!

I make wings in air fryer with only about 2 tablespoons of oil and I estimate less then 1k calories for a dozen, I use Garlic Parm sauce though or G Hughes BBQ Sauce, I may try this recipe out soon in air fryer

Where are the carbs coming from? I'm assuming you don't eat the garnish (oregano & bay leaves)

I made this, but tweaked by replacing bay leaf and fresh oregano with 2 teaspoons thyme, 1 tablespoon garlic powder, and upping dried oregano to full tablespoon. I also kept olive oil at 1/4 cup, forming paste I rubbed on the wings. Cooked in air fryer for 25 minutes at 400°. Came out crispy and tender.

It is very good. I think there is definitely something wrong with calorie count and nutrition considering the bone is not eaten and adds to the weight of the servings. Three pieces @ 7.2 once’s cost me 1273 calories and 6 carbs. Wow!

It looks like there is still a discrepancy in the nutrition. I think it is with the amount of oil since not all of the oil stays on the wings. Also one chicken wing both segments the avg calories are about 100. With the skin on can that not be decreased as well?

This was so delicious. Like another reviewer, I broiled for a few min at the end to make them a little browner and crispier. Then tossed in a little bit of buffalo sauce - delicious! Thanks for the recipe!

Wow! This recipe was nothing short of amazing! Excellent! As good if not better than any restaurant. I added 2 minced garlic cloves and some grated ginger. I will make these again.

Thank you for adding this recipe. I made these for the kids and myself. We all agreed that the flavor was spot on but the salt overpowered the wings. Next time I'll reduce the salt. The kids still cleaned their plates!
