Low Carb Hong Kong Milk Tea

Keto Hong Kong milk tea is a wonderfully caffeinated drink made with extra strong brewed black tea and evaporated milk. Traditional versions of this tea are sweetened with sweetened condensed milk, but this version is sweetened with powdered erythritol. Hong Kong milk tea is served very hot, with just the right amount of evaporated milk and sweetener. Enjoy this strong cup of tea that graces bakeries and restaurants across Hong Kong!

What kind of black tea should you use?

Hong Kong milk tea is made with Ceylon Orange Pekoe. Please use Tetley loose black tea or Lipton black tea bags. You will need to start with a lot of tea to make a small batch of tea for Keto Hong Kong milk tea as it should be very strong! Almost an espresso of teas, if you will.

Why evaporated milk?

Evaporated milk gives the tea a wonderful “cooked” flavor. If you don’t have evaporated milk you can substitute it with whole milk.
