Low Carb Tart Double Berry Smoothie

59 ratings

Get ready to beat the summer heat with this refreshing low-carb double berry smoothie. This recipe starts with a base of coconut milk beverage, which is one of the best plant-based milk types on the market. Greek yogurt is the primary protein source in this recipe, and it provides creaminess too. The slight tropical kick from the coconut milk mellows out the tartness from the raspberries and Greek yogurt. This Keto coconut milk recipe can be sweetened with liquid stevia, but any other liquid sweetener would work.

How can you make this Keto drink refreshing?

To achieve the best cooling effect, use frozen raspberries instead of fresh ones, and place the Keto plant-based milk and Greek yogurt in the freezer for 30 minutes before preparation. This ensures that the final product is cooling and hydrating.

When can you drink this beverage?

This coconut milk smoothie recipe is the perfect breakfast option for warm days to keep you hydrated for a long time. It is also a great pre/post-workout meal, providing you with sustainable energy and electrolytes. You can also add some protein powder to this low-carb drink to assist in muscle recovery.

Can you adapt this recipe to a vegan or dairy-free diet?

Definitely! You can swap Greek yogurt with coconut yogurt. But since the coconut flavor might overpower the other ingredients, we suggest switching half the coconut milk beverage for another Keto plant-based milk, like almond milk. But feel free to experiment.

Could the coconut milk be substituted for Almond milk? I’m seeing a lot of coconut in a lot of recipes, however I’m highly allergic 😞

My husband likes me to mix one can of coconut milk with 1 can of water for him to drink. Would that work since he prefers it to Silk coconut milk?

It's okay, definitely made better smoothies before, but considering that this is strict keto, not bad at all. Will definitely add some vanilla next time.

This was OK. Not too tart and I added extra Greek yogurt. Next time I thunk ill add a teaspoon of vanilla extract to give it a little something more.

Had to tip down the drain as I couldn’t drink it. Way too tart, even bitter.

I replaced the coconut milk with coconut water, added a pinch of monk fruit sweetener and a spoonful of double dollop cream. It was very tasty.

Can I swap out more strawberries for the raspberries?

                                                  recipewriter 3 years ago

It would be better to keep the strawberries and use fewer raspberries since raspberries are higher in carbs.
