Low Carb Tropical Smoothie

10 ratings

Great for breakfast or an afternoon treat, this rich and creamy tropical smoothie has a coconut milk base complemented by the zesty tang of lime and velvety peanut butter.

Blended with ice, this refreshing smoothie uses a little xylitol to sweeten, but you can omit this completely and enjoy its natural sweetness!

Lovely treat. I omitted the lime and sweetener, added 3 small raspberries. Used a little coconut water from the can and 1tablespoon of heavy cream. Fantastic. Try it and post. 2 extra net carbs only.

Did the exact recipe (minus sweetener) and it literally just taste like lime with a hint of coconut... not horrible but next time maybe I’ll add some fruit flavour extract like Deb (in the comment section) did !

              Can I use Almond butter?

I made with peanut and with almond and I believe I prefer the almond for this recipe as the peanut butter flavor can be a little bit stronger and have more of an after taste..

I thought it was very good. I added a little banana extract to add more of a tropical flavor.

The only coconut milk I find is in a can or I have a vanilla unsweetened almond milk which would be the best choice?

Hi, the coconut milk is fine as that is what I used in the recipe. Hope this helps.

Thanks for catching that - I believe that I must have added that in error. It has now been removed!
