Keto Spiked Sweet Tea

Don’t let the prep time scare you away, you’ll want to make batches of this sweet tea in advance for the perfect Keto cocktail! Since you’ll be making sweet tea from scratch, you’ll need to chill your tea overnight or for at least 6 hours, hence the longer prep time. Once your tea has chilled, you can whip up these delicious spiked sweet teas with vodka any night. Sweet tea is an iconic Southern comfort beverage, and everyone has their two cents on what the best recipe is. Use this basic recipe as a starting point, and feel free to add other Keto ingredients to flavor the tea to your liking. You can use basic black tea bags or your favorite brand of black tea to make this Keto drink uniquely yours.

What garnishes can you use for this spiked sweet tea?

The final direction in this recipe calls for a garnish. The recipe photo depicts a slice of lemon as a garnish, but you can utilize other fresh ingredients as well. Sweet tea can be complemented by a lot of flavors, especially fresh herbs. A freshly picked mint leaf or basil leaf would garnish your Keto drink nicely. Even a sprig of rosemary or food-grade lavender would do well here and give your cocktail that ‘gastronomic bartender’ touch. Citrus is another complementary flavor that is flexible with sweet tea. Aside from lemon, try a twist of orange or key lime around the rim of your glass before pouring in your drink.

What can you serve with this spiked sweet tea?

A little alcohol is said to be a digestion aid! Pair this spiked sweet tea with a high-fat Keto meal for the most enjoyable experience. Other Southern-inspired recipes that fit the theme could be the Carb Manager pork rind pork chops. The Keto bacon-wrapped chicken thighs with cheddar sauce is a popular Carb Manager recipe amongst users. Low-carb shrimp and grits or low-carb country captain chicken with creamed spinach also fit the theme of Southern comfort on the dinner table. Let other users know in the comments what you enjoyed eating alongside your Keto spiked sweet tea!

Can you use other alcohols in this recipe?

Vodka is a great choice for this Keto spiked sweet tea because the mild flavor doesn’t overpower the drink. You want the sweet tea to really be the star of the show. Plus, vodka doesn’t have any carbohydrates! You may want to avoid flavored vodka since it could mess with the flavor in the end. The even better news is that all spirits are free of carbs. Because of the flavor profile, you could easily experiment with using other alcohols in this Keto drink recipe. Mild tea, a little sweetness, and a twist of citrus are all complementary flavors to just about any common spirit. Next time you make this recipe, try it out with white rum, silver tequila, or gin!
