Keto French Cheese Souffle

If you are on a mission to try French Keto recipes, this easy cheese souffle should be at the top of your list. It is the epitome of French cuisine, using simple ingredients and basic culinary techniques to deliver a divine dish. The light and airy textures are complemented by the rich flavors of heavy cream, egg, and gruyere cheese. This cheese souffle can be enjoyed as a starter, lunch, or a main course with a side dish.

What makes a souffle special?

Souffle comes from the word “souffler”, meaning “to puff”, which describes a souffle accurately. The most essential component when making souffle is perfectly beaten egg whites, which are folded in a flavorful base of your choice. The creamy light batter puffs up when baked, yielding a delicious, fluffy dish.

How can you customize this Keto recipe?

Traditional cheese souffle is prepared using gruyere cheese, but you can swap it for other types. Some good options include cheddar or Emmental. For best results, buy fresh cheese and grate it yourself. You can also fold chopped crispy bacon, herbs, or spices in the batter.

What to serve with this Keto French cheese souffle

Cheese souffle is best served with something that contrasts its richness and fluffiness. Some great options include a fresh green salad with a tangy dressing, pickled carrots, or roasted beetroot.

Can you prepare this Keto souffle ahead of time?

Unfortunately, you can’t. Once the egg whites are beaten, they must be folded in the remaining ingredients and baked immediately. You should also serve it immediately after baking as it will deflate within minutes.
