Keto Cauliflower Steaks

21 ratings

Keep your cauliflower simple! At just the right thickness with the perfect amount of seasoning, these cauliflower steaks are tender on the outside but keep a little chewiness to them. You can leave the cauliflower steaks as they are in this recipe for a filling side dish, or you can turn them into your main vegetarian course! Pair with the Carb Manager Cheese Sauce to increase your fat macros.

Recipe Steps

  • Step 1

Begin by slicing two thick steaks from a head of cauliflower. They should weight 3 ½ oz each and should be about ¾-inch or 1-inch thick.
    Step 1
  • Step 2

In a medium sized skillet, heat half the olive oil on high heat. Place the cauliflower steaks down in the oil. Then, drizzle the remaining olive oil over the exposed sides of the steaks. Sprinkle a ¼-tsp each of the salt, pepper, and garlic powder over the steaks, as well as ½-tsp of the italian seasoning.
    Step 2
  • Step 3

Place a lid over the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the cauliflower steaks begin to turn golden brown.
  • Step 4

Remove the lid from the skillet. Flip the steaks over so the other side can cook. Sprinkle the remaining seasoning over the newly exposed cauliflower and cook for another 2 minutes.
    Step 4
  • Step 5

Your cauliflower steaks should only cook for 4-5 minutes total. Any long, and the cauliflower will lose its structure. Enjoy hot!

This was really good. However, I cut the amount of salt in half and still found it a little salty for me so you might want to be careful with seasoning. The recipe doesn't say but I assumed that you should re-cover the pan after turning the cauliflower.

Tasty as a side to your protein main. Easy to make using standard store cupboard ingredients. Love them
