Ultimate Keto Carnivore Reverse Double Beef Burger
Bunless burgers are great when you’re out for dinner with friends, but this carnivore hamburger recipe is something special you can treat yourself to at home! This Keto carnivore recipe calls for 2 beef patties acting as the buns and then filled with a fried egg, cheese, and bacon... Yumm are you drooling yet? This carnivore diet recipe serves 2 as a double stacked burger or 4 for a single patty serving. If your carnivore diet permits it, add some herbs and chili flakes to the ground beef mixture for more of a flavorful kick.
What can I fill this reverse double beef burger with?
The best thing about a burger is you can get creative and fill them with your own favorites! Some ideas for this burger stack are a fried egg, bacon rashers, cheddar cheese, halloumi cheese, (or cheese of choice) for a strict carnivore diet.
If you are following a Keto diet, consider adding lettuce, mayonnaise, cucumber, tomato, fermented raw pickles, mustard, sugar-free ketchup, or sugar-free BBQ sauce for more variety.
What kind of ground beef should I use?
Try to source organic grass-fed ground beef as this meat comes from animals that have been naturally fed and raised ethically, without drugs and hormones. This type of meat will always be healthier and more nutritious especially on a limiting carnivore diet. For this recipe grass-fed 15% fat ground beef was used. Any less than 10% fat will make the patty quite dry and crumbly. Feel free to experiment with other ground meats like venison, chicken, turkey, or pork and different herbs for more recipe variations.
How to store the beef patties?
Beef patties are best kept unassembled in an airtight container in the fridge. Consume within 5 days. Reheat in a microwave for about 20-30 seconds, or return to a pan over low heat until hot through. Assemble when ready to serve. These patties can be frozen raw or cooked and consumed within 3 months.

Step 1
Prepare the bacon as per your preference, on a frying pan over medium-high heat or in the broiler. Set them aside. Add the ground beef, 2 medium eggs, salt, and pepper to a large bowl. Use your hands to squeeze and combine all the ingredients together. Divide the mixture into 4 equal parts.Step 2
Use your hands, or a burger press, to form 4 burger patties, approx ¾-inch thickness. Place on a tray and transfer to the fridge for 20 minutes to chill and firm up. This will help to retain their shape when cooked.Step 3
Brush each of the patties with melted butter or ghee to prevent sticking (optional). Heat a griddle pan or non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat and cook for 3-4 minutes on one side. Flip the patties over. These patties can also be cooked on a griddle plate or BBQ.Step 4
Place a thin slice of cheese on top of each and cook for a further 3-4 minutes or until the cheese is just starting to melt. Timings will vary depending on patty thickness, so do adjust according to your preference.Step 5
Transfer the beef patties to a dish to rest. In the frying pan, fry the remaining 2 eggs sunny side up. Grease the edges of a cookie-cutter and crack the egg in it for a neater burger-sized filling (optional).Step 6
Assemble the reverse double beef burger however you like. We recommend stacking the beef patty with the cheese facing up, top with bacon, fried egg, and the beef patty with the cheese facing down. Equally, serve one patty as an open burger and stack with you toppings of choice. Enjoy!
