How much dried cilantro (which I have) would I use in place of fresh?

Just made this and it really is good!! The recipe was excellent as written. I’m trying the bacon chips but without maple syrup because mine had too many sugars. I had keto maple but think I used it all!!!

What a GREAT recipe!! Such a yummy snack. Use the seeds for greater heat from the jalapeño. This rocks!

How does this hold up for party purposes? Does it get brown quickly??

I would suggest keeping the hummus cold until serving time, but it should be able to hold while sitting out for an evening.

The original recipe here makes about 8 ounces in weight, just a little over 1 cup of hummus.

You need to add cumin to make it guacamole, which is normally NOT spicy.

Not quite! Guacamole typically has oil and other ingredients added to it. Guacamole and this hummus recipe do share similar ingredients, though!

Question, where would you find tahini?

        • recipewriter

          recipewriter 6 years ago

Hi there! Tahini is essentially a sesame seed butter. You may find it in the same grocery aisle as other nut and seed butters or in an "international" grocery aisle. Hope this helps!

I used aleppo pepper instead of jalepeno (didn't have any) and it turned out great! TY!
