Take the plastic wrap OFF once you've created a roll. Put into bake pan and cover with tomato...

When do you add the basil? To the meat mix? Chopped first?

I added dried basil with the Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, etc. Then garnished with fresh basil after baking. I LOVE basil!

This has become a family favorite. I sautéed the mushrooms first and covered each slice with a few extras. With a side of Keto friendly veggies and a simple salad, everyone is happy!

So good! Even better the next day. I used half pork and half beef, since that is what I had on hand. I added the onion powder on the outside of the loaf because it didn't say to put it in the bowl. It worked. I used seasoned tomatoes (garlic, oregano, basil) for the topping. Definitely a winner in my house.
