Check out Carb Manager’s herb butter and compound butter recipes to add a little extra flavor to your snack. Variations For 90 Second Mug Bread

We aren’t kidding when we call this 90-second Keto bread recipe “basic”. However, the Carb Manager community is anything but basic and highly creative! This simple recipe allows you to build onto it with any of your favorite bread aromas and flavors. Try adding fresh herbs or garlic to your mix. Before placing your mug in the microwave, top the raw dough off with grated cheese or crunchy keto seeds. You could even add a dollop of sour cream, mayonnaise, or mustard to your mug mix for a little tang and extra moisture.

How Can I Add More Fat To My Keto Bread Recipe?

The original recipe for Keto mug bread does have fats derived from the almond flour and melted butter. If you’d like a little more fat, try mixing shredded cheese into your raw dough. Sesame seeds are another surprising, low-carb way to add fat with little to no carbs to your mug bread. If you’re not a vegetarian, chopped bacon bits or crumbled pork rinds would be a texturally satisfying way to include more fats. If you can think of another Keto underdog for increasing fats to your mug bread, sound off in the comments, and share your ideas!

Just what I wanted! This is an easy and satisfying quick mug bread. I used a whole egg, which, I believe adds 5g fat and about 40 calories. Was great as a base for cream cheese. New favorite!

Nice platform for some cream cheese, peanut butter etc. KETO friendly of course. It’s going in the favourite recipe tab

Take another look at your macros for this recipe please this has to be way off. Lockers are way too high for this recipe.

Awesome! I’ve been making the same recipe but with the whole egg. I need to find out how much the macros would be on that with the yolk. Also, I hate to throw out the yolks. What do you do with all your yolks I like to make a bunch of them, freeze them individually and then put them in a Ziploc bag so I would have a bunch of yolks I need to figure out to make something keto with. Thanks again.

Make this in an English muffin form, and with the yolks, make a hollandaise for a delicious Benedict.

Tried this for the for the first time today but I only had lupin flour for the recipe. It actually tasted quite nice but as I also used salted lurpak and added the pinch of salt, it was over-salty. The consistency was that of normal bread and I can definitely see me using this going forward.

I made 2 servings and doubled everything. Microwaved for 120 seconds and it was perfect! Sliced in half and toasted. This one's a keeper 👍👍

Made it again today. Added cheddar and microwaved for 15 second more. Still good!

I used 1/3 cup of almond flour, added some blueberries(about 7). Melted butter in the mug, then add everything in the mug and microwave for 2mins. It turned out quite yummy.😋😋😋

This was just ok. There are many more recipes out there which are better. If you use salted butter like I did Don’t add the salt, otherwise too salty.

I'm confused! The recipe description at the top says "This super basic mug bread recipe uses only egg whites to avoid that infamous egg taste Keto bread often has." Several comments say this biscuit tastes "too eggy" and one person even suggested using a -whole- egg to avoid the problem! So, which is it? Does eliminating the yolk help with the eggy taste or not?

Made this last night to go with soup. I found it very eggy tasting. The texture was more like corn bread Very greasy with the amount of butter used. Does anyone know how to get rid of the egg smell and taste? It seems like this recipe has potential since there are very few good tasting bread recipes that are keto.

Try one of these - yeast, marmite, ground spice (fennel, nigella seeds, all spice or cumin, lemon/grapefruit/lime zest, rosemary, thyme, origano.

Use a whole egg, add half tsp of nutritional yeast, half tsp of psyllium powder, and a half tsp of ground flaxseed. The nutritional yeast especially helps give it a more bread-like flavor

Loved this! I sliced it in half and toasted it. Topped with cream cheese and Everything But The Bagel seasoning per another’s recommendation below So easy to make! I’ll also use this for when I make burgers for the family, I’ll is this as a slider bun for me. Or egg salad or tuna salad sandwiches etc.

I really liked this. This was my first keto *bread* after almost 6 weeks. I added a dash of salt. Next time I make this, I’m going to toast it with egg over easy and bacon.
