Mediterranean Keto Lamb Burger

For those who love lamb, you will love our Keto lamb burger. Ground lamb is a super quick and easy way to incorporate protein into your Low Carb lifestyle. For this Keto recipe, we have combined ground lamb with granulated garlic, kosher salt, dried parsley (feel free to substitute with chopped fresh parsley), and plenty of black pepper. These burgers are cooked in a heavy-bottomed skillet to create a deliciously browned burger. Once cooked, these burgers are topped with diced cucumber, red onion, and feta cheese salad. The cucumber and feta pair perfectly with the lamb! The burger is served in a Keto-friendly bun.

Do I have to serve this in a bun?

No, you can certainly serve these lamb burgers without the Keto hamburger bun, but with plenty of lettuce on the side or in replacement for the bun. The burger patties are delicious with the lettuce, tomato, and cucumber feta salad alone.

What if I do not like lamb?

You can substitute the ground lamb for hamburger meat if you dislike lamb. Ground grass-fed beef is a great, healthy option for a substitute.

Are burger patties Keto?

Yes, burger patties can be Keto! Since these lamb burger patties are made from scratch, you can be assured that they are Keto and Low Carb because they do not contain any fillers. Our Keto lamb burger patties are made with ground lamb meat, granulated garlic, and dried parsley, all Keto-friendly ingredients.

  • Step 1

Prepare the cucumber feta mix first. Dice the cucumber into small pieces. Next, add the feta cheese, apple cider vinegar, sea salt, and red onion, which have been finely diced. Stir well to combine. Taste and adjust, adding more sea salt or vinegar as desired. Set aside.
    Step 1
  • Step 2

Slice the tomato very thinly. Set these ingredients aside. Combine the ground lamb, granulated garlic, 2 tsp kosher salt, dried parsley, and ground black pepper in a stand mixer or a large mixing bowl. If using a stand mixer, attach the paddle. Beat the mixture for about 30 seconds to incorporate all the seasonings. It also helps the meat to bind together for a burger that is not too loose and falls apart easily. If you do not have a stand mixer, you can mix the mixture by hand using a wooden spoon. Mix well by hand until the mixture has a give and is harder to mix.
    Step 2
  • Step 3

Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat until hot. If using a seasoned cast iron skillet or a nonstick pan, you will not need to add additional fat before adding the burgers. Using a 3 oz scoop, scoop a heaping portion of the ground meat into the pan into mounds. Then using a large flat spatula, press the burgers down until they are ⅓” thick. Sear on the first side for a couple of minutes. Flip the burgers and then repeat on the other side until fully cooked. Repeat with the remaining burgers. To keep the cooked burgers warm while you cook the remaining burgers, place them on a sheet tray in a 135-140 F oven.
    Step 3
  • Step 4

If using a Keto hamburger bun, slice the buns in half. Preheat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat until hot. Add one tablespoon of butter for each batch of buns. A large skillet should fit two buns sliced in half. Cook over low heat until the bottom of the buns are nicely browned.
    Step 4
  • Step 5

To assemble the burgers, place a piece of sliced tomato on the bottom half of each bun. Top the tomato with the burger patty. Then top the burger with the cucumber feta salad. Top with the top half of the bun and serve.
