These sausage calzone are prepared using our keto fathead pizza dough recipe which can be found in the sides section.

The pizza dough is stuffed with cooked sausage, tomato, mozzarella and basil then baked until golden.

Recipe Steps

  • Step 1

    Heat the olive oil in a pan over a medium/high heat. Add the sausages and cook through completely. Set aside.

    Preheat the oven to 380 degrees Fahrenheit.

    Divide the dough evenly into four portions and roll into 4 circles about a half cm thick.

    Spread a tablespoon of the tomatoes across one side of each dough base, leaving a 1 cm gap around the edges.

    Crumble the mozzarella and sausages and divide equally between the four bases. Scatter with the fresh basil.

    Fold the empty half of the dough over the filling and pinch the edges shut, sealing the filling tightly inside.

    Pierce the tops of the dough with a knife then transfer to the oven to bake for 15-18 minutes or until completely cooked through and golden brown all over.

    I’m trying to figure out how this recipe is 260 cal. The fat head pizza dough shows 458 cal for just a serving of the dough. You include that dough in this recipe so I’m assuming you have it in your count of calories and macros. Can someone clarify?
