Sweet & Salty Keto Candied Pecans
I simply love these candied pecans!! They make your house smell so good and comforting. The candied pecans smell and taste like they should be really bad for you, but you can feel good about them because are very low in carbs! I also like to eat them as a snack because the nuts help me stay full and satisfied.

I made these yesterday before I saw this recipe. I just used brown erythritol and butter. I put them in my air fryer and YUM!! I thought I would use some cinnamon and cayenne pepper next.

Can I use brown sugar substitute instead of molasses?
recipewriter 2 years ago
Yes, you could! The color might be less dark, but it still would be delicious.

in reply to early comments the recipe writer said molasses was mostly for color, and others have said they skipped it and the recipe was fine w/o it. i substituted lakanto maple syrup and it didn’t do much by way of color nor flavor - i guess its the real sugar in molasses that probably helps w/browning. nevertheless, these were very good and ‘salty-sweet’ is an accurate description of the flavor, the cinnamon is present, but subtle.

How are they coming up with 1.8 net carbs for this recipe?

There is fibre
varissul a year ago
You always subtract the sugar alcohol and fiber from the total carb count. Sugar alcohols do not impact blood sugar, therefore, they don't count against you.

I'm thinking Molasses would tastes So good on these but it is sugar. I'd be afraid it would knock me out of ketosis?

It’s only calling for a small amount of molasses. Just remember the portion of nuts you eat when it’s done. It should not take you out of ketosis

I think that 1 tsp of molasses for 3 cups of pecans the carbs will be negligible.

Very good treat.

I just tried my first batch and they are great! I only had about 3-4 servings of 100g each though. I am unsure how the recipe is to yield 10 servings.

Based on the calories in pecans, I am using 1 ounce per serving

Salty and not too sweet, perfect! Used it to top off homemade cocoa bars.

When to you add salt?
Peggy 3 years ago
I add the salt just before baking otherwise if you wait until they’re baked, the salt won’t stick.
