Low Carb Carbonara Chicken Bake

124 ratings

Inspired by the classic Italian flavors of a Carbonara, this keto bake is rich with cream and cheese and the saltiness of bacon. For a keto friendly take on the dish, the traditional pasta element is replaced by a buttery layer of leeks.

This recipe makes a great family meal or for entertaining multiple guests.

I love this recipe. Everyone I make it for loves it. My Son has started making it for his girlfriend. The only adjustment I make is I do add a little bit of lemon to the cream mixture kinda taste like lemon pepper carbonara.. Sometimes I add mushrooms, depending on who’s eating it.

So the recipe says that it’s 4 serving but the serving size is half a slice. So that means it’s actually eight servings then? And each serving is less than 2 ounces? Seems like a toddler size portion. If I bump it up to a full slice is almost 700 cal. It seems like a lot. I’m so confused.

Your right about that. 100grams, it doesn't look right t all. 6 pieces of small size chicken & some sauce.

Serving size says 3.5oz. Still smallish for 9 carbs.

This is more of a alfredo dish where as carbonera is made with parmesan and egg. Looks good!

LOVE. I took some of the tips (cream cheese, paprika, cooked leeks in bacon fat)& added some ingredients. Mushrooms, poultry seasoning & shirataki noodles. OH MY GOSH so Good!

This is delicious! I changed a few things though. I added cream cheese, paprika, a little bit of lawry salt. Instead of sautéing the leeks in butter I used the bacon grease and instead of chicken breast I used a whole rotisserie chicken. This is a good solid filling meal.

This was so yummy. I made exactly as written but I sprinkled fresh Italian parsley on after it was done. I think next time I will use half n half with a tbsp or two of cream cheese. This was so easy to make and tasted very decadent.

1 leek here was 200 grams, not sure how you got 2 leeks at 178?

you must have microscopically thin sliced bacon to get 48 grams from 6 slices. i had regular cut bacon and 4 slices were 174 grams before cooking. Yes it will weigh less after cooking but nowhere near the extent needed to end up with 48 grams?

I tried this tonight, was delicious. Recipe said serve immediately, but I found letting it stand for another few minutes the sauce thickened up. Hubby gave it a 9/10 and for a carbivore I’ll take that!

I used spinach, sliced Brussel sprouts and leeks, more bacon and more chicken a little more butter and lessened the cream a quarter cup and used chicken stock. Finished with the parm turned out awesome.
