Keto Crab Stuffed White Fish
For a healthy and light main course, these crab-stuffed tilapia fillets really hit the spot! The crab filling is very fresh, with flavors from dill and tangy mayo. The fish is buttery and tender, so it’s easy to slice through. If tilapia is not your white fish of choice, cod or flounder are also appropriate for this recipe!

Step 1
Preheat an oven to 375 degrees. Combine the canned crab meat, light mayo, dill, and first amounts of salt and pepper in a bowl.Step 2
Prepare the tilapia by placing the fillets on a clean, flat surface. Use a sharp knife to slice open the centers of the thickest part of the fillets, as pictured. Make sure not to fully cut through the fish.Step 3
Place the fish in a sprayed baking dish. Fill the crevices with the crab stuffing, and secure the tilapia shut with wet toothpicks. Sprinkle the final amount of salt and pepper over the fish, and cut and distribute the butter over the tops of the fish.Step 4
Bake the stuffed fish for 30 minutes, uncovered. Then, let the fish turn slightly golden brown under a broiler for 1-2 minutes. Enjoy!

Not with tilapia, though. Will use REAL whitefish next time.

Tasty and so easy.

Delicious. I used cod fish that wasn’t very thick so it cooked in 15 min. This is a keeper.

Can mayo be substituted for anything else? I do not eat mayonaise at all.

A binder with a similar effect would be shredded parmesan cheese. You may want to consider adding a Keto sauce to your meal to maintain a high fat content.

Really like this. But tasted a little bland. Trying to think of something to spice it up like Paul Prudone fish seasoning or some hot sauce. ?? Nevertheless, very good Ty

Don’t fret if the crab smells too fishy at first. After it came out of the oven it was super good. I’m sensitive to “fishy” tastes but this was a winner for me. Also, I couldn’t get enough of a pocket in my tilapia to truly stuff them so I laid the crab mixture on top and baked. Still good!

Why low fat mayo?
Brhee 2 years ago
Wondering that myself. Will probably sub with my regular avocado mayo

Hi there! Low fat mayo was a nutritional choice by the recipe creator. You may absolutely sub in full fat mayo at your discretion. Hope this helps!

We had this last week. Very good. I would less dill. This recipe is one of my favorites.

Didn’t care for it at all. Very fishy tasting. Will not be trying this again.

OMG!!! I made this for guests last night and it was phenomenal!! Everyone wanted the recipe before they left. I did make a slight change, I grated a small amount of shredded Parmesan over the whole thing and let that melt as it baked. Thank you for sharing this! We are adding this to our weekly rotation for sure.
